Yep it's that time, the Plum Pickens Christmas Show. Not only can you find fabulous, one of a kind creations to give as a gift, but you can help out those in need this Holiday season by shopping on Friday night. A $5 donation gets you in a day before everyone else (Pick of the crop) and it gets you some tasty treats. Great food, excellent shopping, and if your really nice (don't worry, we won't tell if you kept this to yourself) some good friends, what more could a girl want.
So if you are in the area, you might be asking, how and where? Well it's in a house in the Waterford Subdivision.
From the Maple Street, head West to 156th Street (surprise, surprise there is a Walgreens on the corner).
Turn North onto 156th Street and continue for a bit. You are looking for Iowa Street. It has a turn lane, and you will be turning East (Right) onto Iowa. There should be signs at this point, but gotta love the winter season it will most likely be dark. Continue straight on Iowa to the roundabout. You will continue heading East as though the roundabout is not there.
Turn left onto 154th Street and continue approx. 2 blocks. By now you may start seeing parked cars and women patiently waiting in line outside # 7321.
FYI Carrie doesn't allow shoes in the house, so wear slip-ons and warm socks.
I know you have been waiting to hear about my Silverbella adventures. Again I apologize for the lack of pictures. You would think with so many woman taking them left and right that it would have prompted me to take them as well. No such luck, I was so exhausted mentally, that I am surprised I remembered my own name.
This will be a long post, so sit back with a nice beverage in one hand and a tasty treat in the other.
I arrived bright and early Friday morning to my first class (Teresa I love you dearly, but please no more 8 am classes). It was with the wonderful Charlotte Lyons. I made this cute little tree using wool and metallic floss (Thanks Lonnie!)
The bella next to me used one of the felted sweaters that Charlotte brought. Remember those funky sweaters from Beneton? That is what it looked like. I did take a photo that morning, but in my haste later that evening, I deleted it so I could have space on my card (idiot!) It was at this point that I realized the rumors were true about a certain magazine being there, yep 2 of the editors from Country Living Mag were there with photographers taking a million photographs.
On to my next class, Carolyn Peeler's Turn Up the Twinkle. Very cute and so not finished. I had the pleasure of sitting with a few local bellas, Jessi, Cari, and Jill. The picture for this class was a bit blurry so I will share it later when it is actually finished.
Then it was off to the luncheon where I discovered that Chris Brown would not be speaking, but we did get a Q/A session with the editors. It was quite informative, and hopefully has left me with a better understanding of what is needed to submit work and events to magazines for publication. These 2 honorary bellas were so nice, and quite encouraging when talking me about my work.
I finally was able to check into my room, it only took 15+ minutes to get a luggage cart to take my stuff to my room. Oh well, no worries, I had plenty of time, or so I thought. I still needed to price a few items for Vendor night, and label all the swap bags for the Ornabella Swap I hosted. I finished with some time to spare, and started to get ready for the Country Bella Ball. Again, not a single picture. I did notice on ArtsyMama's blog that I am in the background of one of her pictures. She is posing with Dede Warren and I am just behind Dede on the right.
On to Vendor night... This whole weekend was like a blur of non stop creativity and giggles. I set up in record time, and started to regret my decision to not bring items to stage the table. I was relieved to have Cari Kraft across the way, and giddy at having the fab Coleen Moody RIGHT NEXT to my table. I have admired this woman for years, and here she was setting up her gorgeous creations right next to me.
Here is the fab Ms. Kraft and her table.
here is a pic of my table
and a close up
here are some close ups of creations that are now in private collections...

If you like the 2 pieces above, I will have a few at Plum Pickens this weekend. Well, this is just part one of my glitter filled weekend. I will post more later this week in between creating and parenting. If you have time, pop on over to a few of the blogs on my side bar. ArtsyMama had tons of pics with links to other bella blogs with even more pictures.
Happy blogging!
