I'm a graphic artist that's recently discovered her love for photography. This newfound "excitement" was brought about by my other love, scrapbooking.

So much to say, yet so little time...

Pray

My friend Becca has been working tirelessly over the last year organizing events and raising money for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.  I wasn't able to attend her Scrap event in October, but I was able to donate one of my creations for auction.  The auctions were organized in batches this year due to the large number of items received.  I am happy to announce that the above piece is now available on ebay!  Click on the picture above or  here if you would like to bid.  All the money raised goes straight to JDRF.
I am sure that most of you have seen the news lately concerning the tragic events that unfolded at Westroads mall.  I am thankful, that my family and friends are all safe, but deeply saddened at the loss of so many innocent people.  My heart goes out to all of those affected due to the senseless act of one individual.  His actions, whatever reasons, will probably never be understood.  The stories coming out now, say that he was a troubled, young man.  One that his family tried to help, but couldn't find a way.
My chosen career is that of teaching, I see troubled, young children every day.  To think that maybe one person could have made a difference in this man's life... I don't know.  I do know that our actions no matter how small or insignificant they may seem make a difference.  A smile, holding the door, donating the loose change in your pocket, can brighten a person's day even if for only a moment.  It's the smallest gestures of kindness that grow.  There is a commercial on tv, it starts with a man picking up a child's toy that falls out of the stroller, a passer by notices and then does something simple like hold the door, and the next person stops a person from walking out into the street, etc.  So this Holiday season spread some love and kindness around.  It's free, and at the end of the day you just might help change someone's life.
